The Times They Are A-Changin’ – Live in Loreley, Germany on July 17th, 1981

Bob Dylan was in fine form in the late 70s and early 80s. Alot of people don’t like Dylan’s Christian period but I think it’s Dylan at one of his peaks.

For awhile there in the early 80s Dylan only played his religious material but this must have been just after.

This is a beautiful renidition of this song played like it was in 63 – one man, one guitar and one harmonica, until the band kicks in towards the latter part of the song.

I really like Dylan’s voice in 1981.

  1. Is there a video ? I was at this concert !

  2. Dylan’s voice was really great around 1980. Just mind the Desire (singing in One more cup of coffee is really great), and then the Street Legal, and on and on till Infidels (songs like Sweetheart like you, I and I, … are sung so great and powerfull).
Really nice video, and btw a fantastic blog!
